Making lattes at home is super cost-effective and entirely customizable.
I just recently picked up a frother from Amazon and let me tell you- I have put some serious miles on that thing! And SCORE- It’s under $15! Personally, I think that adding that whipped, creamy froth on top is the trick to making this drink just like the ones you’d buy at specialty coffee shops. At a FRACTION of the cost!
*Note: I may make a small portion of sales from products recommended on this page. However, I REALLY actually bought them here also 🙂
Main Stars in this drink:
Espresso – Almond Milk – Cinnamon – Vanilla Coffee Syrup
If you’re like me, and you don’t have an espresso machine (I know, I know!) , you have a few other options.
First, you can always pick up some Instant Espresso Coffee and prepare according to the label. This is probably the easiest and most affordable option. I have tried the Nescafé Gold Espresso Instant Coffee and find that it does the trick in a pinch.
My second option, and this is my preferred option, is investing in a Portable Espresso Makers. This adds another step to the process, but is so worth it! I use the WACACO Nanopresso Portable Espresso Maker from Amazon and Grand Milano pods. As I said, this is a small investment at first, but the payoff is decadent, at home espressos and lattes!
The Best Part:
You only need 4 ingredients to make this!
Quick Instructions
Make your espresso using the instant espresso coffee or the portable espresso maker. Add vanilla coffee syrup and pour into mug. Froth almond milk and add half reserve of cinnamon to it. Pour froth into mug slowly. Add some whipped cream (optional). Sprinkle remaining cinnamon on top. Sip, sip away!
Important Note
It’s important to add the vanilla coffee syrup to the espresso and not the milk as it doesn’t froth properly. Feel free to stir the frothed milk into the espresso mix. I do unless I’m serving in my glass mugs (that I totally scored from a second hand store fyi!) and want it to be more “presentable” showing the espresso and froth in layers. If you like a sweeter drink, add some sugar or stevia to taste.
Enjoy this decadent latte while curled up with a good book!
